The Arc of the Eastern Panhandle was recently awarded a BRIDGE grant from WV's Governor Jim Justice for a summer vocational program to train and prepare disabled adults for employment in the eastern panhandle.

For this program we will hire a part-time program manager and outreach coordinator.

We will also be posting applications for Pathways Program vocational program candidates.

If you are interested in applying to participate as a candidate or as a part time program manager this summer, please email toninda209@gmail.;com.

GET TO KNOW US

Promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

The Arc was founded in 1950 by parents who believed their children with I/DD deserved more – to be included in their communities and to pursue fulfillment and happiness just like everyone else. Ever since then, The Arc has continued to grow and evolve along with the changing needs and issues people with disabilities and their families face — and has played a pivotal role in changing the public perception of disability.

The Arc of the Eastern Panhandle is Primarily Focused on Advocacy and establishing creative community Innovations to Support those with Disabilities

Arc of the Eastern Panhandle has established a People First Chapter to promote self-advocacy by speaking and acting on behalf of the rights and responsibilities of all people with developmental disabilities.

This is a self-led group that meets monthly on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at Shepherd University's Student Center (210 N. King Street, Shepherdstown, WV) in the Potomac Room on the second floor.

Please join us for our Holiday outing Saturday, December 14th.  Our members will be going to Dave and Busters in Gathersburg, MD.  We will caravan from Black Dog coffee in Shenandoah Junction at 10 am this Saturday.  Please rsvp to executivedirector@areeasternpanhandle.org.
